Cookies

Cookie Settings

This website uses so-called cookies in some areas. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our website more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer and saved by your browser.

Most of the cookies we use are so-called “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies enable us to recognise your browser on your next visit.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the use of cookies so that you can decide on a case-by-case basis whether to accept or reject a cookie. Alternatively, your browser can be configured to automatically accept cookies under certain conditions or to always reject them, or to automatically delete cookies when closing the browser. Disabling cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Cookies that are necessary to carry out the electronic communication process or to provide certain functions you have requested are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing technically necessary cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. Where other cookies (e.g. cookies for analysing your browsing behaviour) are stored, these are treated separately in this privacy policy and are only set on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(1) TTDSG.

Server Log Files

The website provider automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are:

  • Browser type and browser version
  • Operating system used
  • Referrer URL
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Time of the server request
  • IP address

This data is not merged with other data sources.

The legal basis for data processing is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website. Server log files are stored for a maximum period of 30 days and then deleted, unless a security-relevant event requires longer retention.

4. Analytics Tools

Matomo

We use the web analytics tool “Matomo” (formerly Piwik), which is operated on our own servers and does not transmit any data to third parties. Matomo creates usage profiles on the basis of pseudonyms. For this purpose, permanent cookies are stored on your device and read by us. This allows us to recognise and count returning visitors.

We also use the Heatmap & Session Recording modules. The heatmap service shows us which areas of our website are clicked most frequently or most visited with the mouse. The session recording service records individual user sessions so that we can analyse and improve the usability of our website. Data entered into forms is not recorded at any time.

All data collected by Matomo is stored exclusively on our own servers in Germany and is not passed on to third parties.

Data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 25(1) TTDSG, provided you have given your consent via our cookie banner. Consent covers separately the general usage analysis and the heatmap and session recording functions. You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future by accessing the cookie settings via the button above.

Matomo data is stored for a maximum period of 12 months and then deleted.

5. Plugins and Tools

Adobe Fonts (Web Fonts)

This website uses so-called web fonts provided by Adobe Fonts (fonts.adobe.com) to ensure a consistent display of typefaces. When a page is accessed, your browser loads the required web fonts into its browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.

For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to Adobe’s servers. This enables Adobe to become aware that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Adobe Fonts is in the interest of a consistent and appealing presentation of our online services. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

We have concluded a data processing agreement with Adobe in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR for the use of Adobe Fonts. Adobe may also process your data in the USA. Adobe is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, ensuring an adequate level of data protection.

If your browser does not support web fonts, a default font from your computer will be used.

Further information about Adobe Fonts can be found at https://fonts.adobe.com and in Adobe’s privacy policy: https://www.adobe.com/privacy/policy.html
